Bold and bright entrance canopies adorn the portals welcoming commuters to the new underground Perth City Busport at Queen St, King St and Yagan Square.
The $217m Perth City Busport project is a state of the art, landmark building for the Perth Transport Authority (PTA). Being one of only a few entirely underground bus stations in the world and integrating a new Dynamic Stand Management System, it sets the bench mark in innovation and technology for future buildings of its type. For locals the Perth City Busport occupies a site which was formerly divided by the Entertainment Centre, the old Wellington St Bus Station and the railway tracks. City Walk is now where the three new Perth Busport entry portals are located. The transparent facades draw passengers into light filled spaces and down into the bustling terminals below.
Products for the three entrance portals at Queen St, King St and Yagan Square were rigorously selected by the City Busport Alliance design team and the PTA to meet aesthetic as well as quality finish, driven by functionality and design. Cooling Brothers is proud to have been involved in such an important part of Perth’s changing city landscape, we supplied and installed the high quality ImagInk printed glass canopies which adorn two sides of each of the lobbies.
The simple yet bold geometric scheme for the canopies were executed in the distinctive Transperth green and white, printed and encapsulated within 13.52mm clear custom laminate. They welcome visitors to the information centre at the Yagan Square entry portal which stands at triple height and will certainly last the distance expected of them for full UV exposure for decades to come.
